My Liebster Award & Nominees

I am excited to announce I was nominated the Liebster award by a fellow blogger. I am honored and humbled to know she thought highly of this space! Thank you to Our Front Door Look In Gin Blog for nominating me! Make sure to visit Sara’s page for delicious recipes! I am particularly excited to recreate this recipe! Simple and delicious. 🙂

For those of you who are unsure what this award entails and means — let me tell you! The Liebster Award 2017 is an award that is given to bloggers by other bloggers for connecting and recognition. This award has been around since about 2011. Liebster in German means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome. Which is so sweet to be awarded this! 🙂

One of my favorite blogs out there is Peony Press. Kelsie’s blog is so real and so honest. She talks about mental health, nature and is 100% real with who she is. I get excited to read her blog posts each time. She is also a great poet. I love this post by her, where she talks about Audrey Hepburn and self-confidence. She is so real and it is so refreshing and beautiful!

Part of this award entails answering questions from the person who has nominated you, so let’s get to it!

Here are 11 questions from Sara!

1. How did you get started with blogging?

I got started blogging because of my obsession with makeup and watching relentless hours of YouTube videos. I was also going through a phase of over a year of serious self-help routine and thought that I had something to give back. I was more so looking for ways to give back to my community and wanted to help in some way, but didn’t know how. So, like a puzzle, the pieces fell together. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for quite some time and I just went for it!

2. If you had to choose one post from your blog to showcase, which one would you choose and why?

Hmm, I would say my 10 Quotes to Guide Your Life post. I find quotes to be beautiful and love how they can put you in a different mindset and in some cases, they can help you take action on the important things in life. If you scroll through my Instagram, you will see quotes are big for me. I think the people who have spoken those words have left their mark on this earth by speaking to us with their words infinitely. It’s funny because all of the overused quotes and sayings have so much truth to them because it’s usually from people who have lived out this life, and they got it figured it out, so all we have to do is listen!

3. How would you describe your sense of humor?

I would say I can be sarcastic and random. Just a lot of silliness but with a serious attitude. It’s a weird mix!

4. Where is your favorite vacation spot?

I don’t really have one for my adult years, but growing up my best friend and I used to go to York Beach, Maine every summer and it was the best place to be as a teenager. I think we went for 7 or 8 years in a row!

5. What was your favorite class in high school or college?

Probably algebra. I loved Math. I love figuring things out and the satisfaction of knowing you were able to accomplish it. I took superlatives for Math…yeah, I know, I’m a dork.

6. What is the last book you read?

The $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau.

7. Do you have any funny hidden talents?

I can make bird/whistling noises with my hands clasped together. Took me quite some time to learn this as a kid from my dad!

8. Are you binge watching any shows on Hulu or Netflix right now?

I was watching ‘The Good Place’ and loved it, but now have to wait for the next season 😦 But it’s all good, because Stranger Things just came back with a new season. 🙂

9. Who inspires you the most?

I think Tony Robbins. Everything he stands for is so inspiring and what he has done with his career is amazing.

10.  What is something you want to accomplish in the next year?

Travel somewhere unknown. Be uncomfortable in a place I’ve never been and meet new people.

11.  Are you a morning person or night owl?

More of a morning person. I get more energy in the morning, whereas, at night I just want to curl up in bed with a good book or watch YouTube.

Alright, guys that’s it! Hope that lets you into my world a little and we can start to be friends now?! Again, thank you so much Sara for nominating me! I really appreciate it. Of course, in return, I get to choose 5 other nominees!
