Dominique Cosmetics Latte Palette Review

Christen Dominique, a very successful beauty YouTuber, came out with her makeup line this year; starting with a palette. Her palette is called Latte Palette and has all the names associates with coffee for her eye shadows.

I personally have been following her for a few years now, and I knew right when I saw it, that it was something I wanted to get my hands on. I bought it during her pre-sales, and it took quite a while to get to me. Luckily for you, if you also want to get your hands on this palette, it will soon be on Ulta and you won’t have to pay for shipping!

I’m excited to find out what else she comes out with and I know there is one more palette coming out soon, which I cannot wait for. But for now, let’s get on to the review for the Latte palette…

Packaging:

This palette is white with rose gold outer packaging and is made from cardboard. It does have a mirror, which can be so useful. The palette sizes are a little bigger than what you are used to, which is because she wants you to be able to use it for the whole face. So, a palette that can highlight, bronze and set your face. Having white packaging for eyeshadows can be risky as they tend to show the most messiness of eyeshadow fall out, but I did not notice that it wasn’t that bad with this palette. It could be due the fact that it has the rose gold to cover most of the palette. It’s not a heavy palette and could be great for travelling, especially since it can be used as other things. I haven’t tried to bronze or highlight my face with it, but I did see that Christen Dominique did, and it came out very nice.

Eye Shadows:

The latte palette comes with 10 shades. It comes with a shade to set your eyelids and one for transition. Those are a must in a palette to achieve a full, complete look. It has a lot of warm tones, with a few cool tones. There are 3 shimmery shades and the rest is matte. There is no black eye shadow, which would not allow you to have a dark look. For me, I believe the shade “Cold Brew” does it for me. It’s a beautiful green, emerald shade. If I wanted a smoky eye, I would just reach for a different palette. This palette can be used for a daytime or nighttime look. The shades are named Hazelnut, Caramel, Vanilla Crème, Mocha, Pumpkin Spice, Espresso, Macchiato, Crème Brulee, Cold Brew and Double Shot. Basically, a coffee addicts dream palette.

Quality:

The eyeshadows do not have too much fall out, which can allow for a mess free use. This palette is beginner friendly and super blend-able. You can create natural looks with ease. I love this palette because it takes the guess work out of the everyday looks you want to create. There is a minimal kick-back with the shades, which allows for you to get a good use out of it and to keep the palette clean. Overall, I would give this palette a 9/10 for quality. The only reason it didn’t get a 10 for me is the range of eyeshadows don’t have a variety to be able to create any look you want and the eyeshadows are buildable, which is great for a beginner so that you don’t mess up, but it means you have to keep going in and build to a color you want. Not a bad thing, but I would’ve wanted a little more pigment from the first try. Either way, it’s not a deal breaker because it allows the palette to be an everyday wear and allows for anyone, no matter where your skill level is at with makeup, to be able to easily use this, which I think is super sweet for Christen to do that.

Lastly, I think this palette is one of the best eye shadows a YouTuber came out with and the fact that it is coming to Ulta is a sign of that. I love it and have been using it for all of my eye shadow looks lately. You can purchase this at Ulta here.

Let me know if you guys have purchased this as well or looking to get one!

I love the look of this palette, and now that it is in Ulta I might get it! Shipping on her website is just too expensive internationally!
