Did Flower Beauty Change The Game for Affordable Brands?

Flower Beauty Foundation Review

Flower beauty officially launched at Ulta a few months back and it’s been all the hype in the beauty world.

If you did not know already, Flower Beauty was created by the lovely Drew Barrymore, which only makes us, makeup junkies that more intrigued. Drew Barrymore’s hit movie “50 First Dates” were the epitome of relationship goals. If you haven’t watched it yet, girl what are you doing, you’re missing out!

Apparently, Flower Beauty has been around since 2012, and just recently launched at Ulta.

To be honest, I only tried this makeup line because of my love for Drew Barrymore. She is such a kind-hearted soul and I had to see how her creation measured up to her success in the media business.

I didn’t really have high hopes for it as I haven’t yet found an affordable brand that I’ve been wildly impressed with. At least definitely not for foundations. But to my surprise, Flower Beauty is absolutely something to talk about….

Review:

Flower Beauty Review

Flower Beauty is sold at Ulta, like I’ve mentioned above, and has variety of products to achieve a full face look. I only picked up her foundation, concealer and blush, which were all products that were the most hyped about. I’ve been wearing these products for the past month, almost everyday. For me personally, I know if I will like a face product within a few tries, if not the first try. But, for a full in depth review, I wanted to make sure I knew everything about these products before I mentioned it to you guys, which is why I tried it for a month before writing this.

Foundation:

Flower Beauty Foundation Review

This foundation promises to be luminous and have a nude-skin feel. I can attest that it definitely does have both of those feels to it. The foundation also has spf of 18, which I don’t really get the number, but hey, it’s still something!

I am absolutely so impressed with the foundation. I cannot believe how amazing it is, especially for the price point. It is full coverage and leaves your skin looking like skin. Honestly, if there is any drug-store or affordable brand foundation you want to get, this has to be it. This feels luxurious and works just as well as some of my high-end foundations. It has a dewy finish, but it doesn’t feel oily or heavy. I don’t think any of my oily skin people will have a problem with it. It really feels universal to me as far as having it work for anyone. It’s super creamy and applies smoothly without any patches. I’ve always had a problem with drug-store brands being patchy on my skin, but not with this one! The shade I have been using is warm beige L4.

Concealer:

Flower Beauty Review

This one is also creamy and the tip of it reminds me of the Nars concealer. It works just as beautifully. It may not be as good as Tarte Tape Shape, but it gets pretty darn close. If you are trying to save money and are in need of a good concealer, I would highly recommend you this one. I mean it’s all I’ve been wearing all month long, which to me says a lot. The shade I am using is L3-4 Light.

Blush:

Flower Beauty Review

This blush is everything you need. It gives you the most beautiful finish and color to your face. I always get scared with drug-store brands having too much pigment in their blush, but not this one, it’s the perfect amount. It’s your classic blush. The shade I have is Sweet Pea and it works really well with my skin tone. This is currently the most highly-rated product from her line at Ulta. The foundation comes in second and concealer is fourth.

Packaging:

Her packaging definitely has a hippie vibe as expected. The foundation has a pump, the concealer feels luxurious and resembles a Nars concealer and the blush is packaged simple, but beautifully, with a flower embedded on it.

For me, I think Flower Beauty gets 10/10 for packaging. The fact that the foundation has a pump is always a positive and the concealer being easy to use and resembling a high-end brand is something that most drug-store brands don’t do. The blush is equally beautiful to look at and use.

Durability:

I’ve used it with a primer and without one and it didn’t make a difference! You can’t say that with most foundations. Typically, with most foundations, you need to use a primer for best results and durability, but not with this one! Of course, definitely use one still if you have a primer, but if you don’t have one you are good to go!

I like that it doesn’t promise you certain number of hours of wear because honestly, I feel like that’s always crazy. Like no foundation should last you 24 hours because you need to let your skin be free at night. This foundation says it’s an all-day wear, which is reasonable. I can also attest that it does last all day. It looks equally as beautiful as when you first applied it. I’m not one to repurchase a drug-store or affordable brand foundations, but this one definitely wins my heart for me to want to do that. The concealer is equally great, but you know my love for Tarte, that it’s hard to confess all my love for this concealer. It’s beautiful nonetheless, it just won’t ever have my full heart – I’m sure you get it…

Price:

This is a wallet-friendly brand – with most products being under $15. The foundation is priced at $13.99, blush and concealer are both $9.99. It’s such a steal; seriously, I cannot wait to try out her other products. Currently, her liquid matte color is the third most popular from her brand and I’m already thinking I need those as well! You really cannot beat the price point and the quality of this brand.

Overall…

I’d say, don’t look anywhere else for affordable makeup, you’ve hit the jackpot with Flower Beauty. I can imagine now that this is at Ulta, other affordable brands will have to step up their game because this brand truly feels luxurious and resembles high-end products. It makes me happy because you can actually get makeup that’s both affordable and fabulous. I wouldn’t rave about it this much if it weren’t true.

Let me know if you’ve tried any of her other products and what you think about them!

Until next time…

Ozzy

April Beauty Favorites

April Beauty Favorites

This month’s favorites are a long one! I tried so many amazing products and I know I will be using them for many months ahead.

I wanted to also give the three products that I think are not worth the money in here as well in case you were thinking of buying them. Let me know if that is something you guys like and I can keep doing the things I didn’t like either!

Here Are My April Beauty Favorites:

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Bronzer

Okay, I was super hesitant to buy this because it’s expensive. Like $42 for a bronzer…What?! But, I’ve heard amazing things about this product, so I had to know what all the hype was about. And thankfully, it did not disappoint! Guys, seriously this is the BEST bronzer I have ever used. It knocked my Benefit Hoola bronzer out of first place, which is crazy to me. This gives you the most beautiful finish. It seriously looks like a natural bronze you would get from the sun. I feel like I am not even wearing makeup, but that I just came from a vacation. 🙂 The little brush it comes with is also useful and it’s what I’ve been using at the gym to get ready with. It’s made nicely where you can really contour your face with it. The palette is huge, so I’m thinking this will last me a while (hopefully!).

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Bronzer

Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Highlighter

Anastasia Beverly Hills Amrezy Highlighter Review

Here’s another product that’s been highly hyped about in the beauty community and I highly think it’s worth it, too. It’s a gold highlighter, but it leaves your skin looking so beautiful and natural. I can definitely see this will be a hit for the summer as it will look great with a tan! If you haven’t gotten into highlighters yet, I would definitely recommend this one or any of Becca’s products.

Makeup Revolution Sophx Highlighter Palette

makeup revolution london sophx palette

Okay, now I know why my list for April is so long, it’s because I tried all the highly hyped up products! Here’s another one….The great thing about this highlighter is that it’s affordable! I purchased this one from Ulta and have been loving it. There’s so many different shades that you can use for different looks, which I love. If you are a makeup artist, then you will love this as there’s a shade for almost anyone. I love that there’s also a white shade, which you can use as a crease highlight in your eyes. I’ve been using this palette with the Anastasia Beverly Hills highlighter above and it’s been a pretty blinding (but beautiful) highlight on my face! 🙂

makeup revolution london sophx palette

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Review

Believe it or not, this is my first time trying out this primer. This is a oldie, but a goodie product. I think it’s nice to mention this now for anyone that is getting ready for prom or their wedding, this is the primer for you! It photographs beautifully without any flashbacks. I used to be scared to try this because I used to have oily skin and I thought this would work terribly on my oily skin and feel gross, but it definitely doesn’t! It’s not heavy at all and feels your skin feeling moisturized and silky, but all in good ways! It definitely allows for a beautiful foundation application as well. Since this is a silicone base primer, it will tend to do that where the silicone acts as a slate for your face!

Hourglass Vanish Foundation in Shell

Hourglass Vanish Foundation Review

This was my first product I tried from Hourglass and it did not disappoint! Wait, I think I tried their primer too, but that was given to me as a gift with my points from Sephora, so that doesn’t count!! 🙂 Anyways, again I understand the hype about this product. This is one of the best foundations I have ever tried. It leaves your skin looking like….skin! It covers everything you want it to and makes you look like you have no makeup on. I’m a seriously full coverage type of gal, so when I am going out, I’ve been mixing this with my Giorgio Armani foundation (which I restocked during the Sephora sale :)!). I think this is a great everyday foundation on its own, but if you want night time glam, you can definitely benefit from mixing it with another foundation! It will give you the most beautiful finish, trust me!

Benefit Gimme Brow Fiber Gel

Benefit Gimme Brow Review

I’ve been using this product for a while now and wasn’t sure if I ever mentioned it. This has quickly become my ride or die product. What I love about it is, if you are running late and want your eyebrows to look presentable or just a little better, you can just apply this without fully doing your eyebrows, and you are good to go! I’ve been wearing this a lot by itself because it’s easy and quick. If you use the hourglass foundation, this gel and mascara, then you got yourself an easy 5 minute makeup look!

Lipsticks:

April Beauty Favorites

Picture originally from Female Thoughts

Guys, the struggle is real. I picked up amazing nude shades this past month and fell in love with them all, which then thought they deserved their own little category! I know that I will be using all of these all throughout the summer, spring, fall, winter… you catch my drift – all the time!

Marc Jacobs Lip Gloss in Sugar Sugar

Memoallure.com Marc Jacobs Lip Gloss

This one I recently purchased and have been dying to buy months before. This one reminds me of the good ol’ days when lip glosses were much more popular and that’s what almost everyone wore. I love how girly this color makes me feel and that it has a slight minty feel to it. It’s not overpowering and very subtle. The thing that does stink about lip glosses is that they don’t last as long as lip sticks, but that’s ok this one’s worth it. I know this will look absolutely beautiful with a tan in the summer! If you are not willing to spend $28 (which I totally get), then I believe BareMinerals has a similar product here, that you can get for about $9 less.

Marc Jacobs Lip Gloss in Sugar Sugar

Lime Crime in Marshmallow

Lime Crime Marshmallow Lipstick

This lipstick is my first product I’ve tried from Lime Crime and I am so impressed. I’ve heard great things about this brand and I couldn’t wait to try this shade. I think this is probably my favorite nude of all time. Watch out, makeup-for-ever-nude-lipstick-that-I’ve-loved-for-over-a-year-now, this is my new jam! Seriously, the most beautiful nude. It’s a very neutral nude and I think would look amazing with smoky eyes!

Lime Crime Marshmallow Lipstick

Stilla Lipstick in Carmello

Stilla Carmello Lipstick

Okay, so the Lime Crime lipstick above and this one really were fighting for first place in my crazy-makeup-obsessed brain. And it was tough to choose, and although Lime Crime won, this is another absolutely amazing lip shade. All I’m wondering is where has this shade been all my life?! I am so in love with this, too and I’ve been wearing the two back and forth. I am finally thinking I don’t think I need any other lip stick in my life (we’ll see how long this lasts). This nude has a little bit more of a pink undertone so could be a better pair if you have more colorful look in your eyes!

Stilla Carmello Lipstick

L’Oréal Colour Rich Shine in 908 Sprakling Rose

Ulta Haul

Lastly, this has been something I’ve been wearing all month long as well. This is one of those lipsticks that you can just apply without even looking in a mirror. It’s more like a tint, but you can definitely notice the color. I love this color in particular and think it gives my face the most beautiful flush of color. I know it will also look amazing with a tan. I’ve been using this lipstick as more like a chapstick, although it doesn’t even have the properties to be a chapstick, but you know the struggles of wanting to look glam!

L'Oreal Colour Rich Shine

Hair Products:

I have two hair products this month, which I know have officially become my ride-or-die and I have been using them almost everyday! All I’ve been wondering is how did I go through life without these two products! Was that a bit dramatic?…. Well, you can’t stay calm when your hair is on point because of these two products!

Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo

Detox Dry Shampoo Review

You guys know Livingproof dry shampoo has been my jam for quite a while now. But then this came into my life and it has changed my life for the better. The thing that was bothering me with Livingproof is that I would run out of it so quickly, it felt so hollow. I feel that I won’t have the same issue with this one. Also, I definitely notice that this one works better than the Livingproof one! I also love the scent to this. It’s a win-win situation. 🙂

Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser Invisible Oil

Memoallure.com bumble and bumble

I’ve been using this a lot at the gym and have been loving it. It’s great for anyone that travels but also great for anyone who wants to have hair goals! I love this one because it leaves my hair feeling so silky and smooth and I love that it is protecting my hair against heat. I can’t remember if I wrote this in another favorites post, but regardless, you need to hear it again. I love this! It’s 100x better than the “It’s a Ten” junk we all grew up using. Trust me, you gotta upgrade, girlie and you will thank me! 🙂

Lastly….

Okay this is the last one from my favorites list. We are (finally) coming to an end.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover

Neutrogena oil-free eye makeup remover review

I’m not sure if I ever mentioned how much I love the Neutrogena wipes, but I sure do. I use them almost everyday, but it doesn’t quite get all of my mascara. I knew I needed to do something about it instead of waking up with raccoon eyes. This product has been a life saver, also age saver since it allows me to take off all my makeup (wrinkles, go away!). I dip my q-tip in this and take off all of my mascara and residue makeup left on my eyes. I honestly finally feel good about having all my makeup off! I used to use this one before I bought this one and I think it is great to bring with you on the go!

Now, the three products I did not like:

I wanted to mention these products to save you from spending your money. Of course, you may have a different opinion than me and this is just what did not work for me and everyone is different, so please keep that in mind.

Marc Jacobs Noir Mascara

Sephora Spring Sale

So, I don’t hate or love this product. I like it, but don’t love it. I think for its price point it could be better. I know so many people rave about this and love it, but for me I thought it was hard to use. It does kind of resemble the “Better Than Sex” mascara, in my opinion, but it doesn’t leave any residue at the end of the day like “Better Than Sex” does. Which for that reason, I think some people will love this. I just think it doesn’t give me the results I want quickly. I’m a very on-the-go type of gal and need things to be efficient. With this mascara, I feel like I have to apply so many layers until I reach a point where I am content. Don’t get me wrong, once I reach it, it truly is beautiful! Overall, if you love your “Better Than Sex” mascara, then I would say stick with that one. And if you did not like “Better Than Sex” because it has some residue at the end of the day, then try this one out!

Essence I Love Extreme Mascara

Memoallure.com essence

I was disappointed to find out this was not as great as the one that comes in the pink package. I just feel like it didn’t give me the volume I wanted and was hard to work with. This one is more on the affordable side, so if you absolutely want to try for yourself, you can, but I don’t think it’s worth it.

Essence Super Last Eyeliner

Okay, now this is a product that I think no one needs. It’s super hard to work with. It’s very watery and you can mess up your look so quickly. The tip is too long and flimsy. It’s really not good at all. Once the product is on, it does look nice, but again, if you have the time to really work through it and the patience, then you do you, but for those reasons I’m out! (#SharkTankReference).

Okay guys, that is all! This was a long one for sure, but I hope you learned something new and let me know if there is any products that you guys are excited to try!

Until next time….

xx,

Ozzy

Spring Ulta Haul | 2018

Ulta Haul

I gave up buying makeup for lent, so when I was finally allowed in Ulta again, I felt like a kid in a candy store, unsupervised. But really I’m happy to have gone so many days without buying makeup, knowing that I can do that again, and not go overboard buying things I really don’t need.

I’m excited to share the products I’ve bought because I know some of them are amazing, and some I’m excited to try out. As always, if I end up loving any of these, you guys will know in my April Favorites post coming at the end of the month!

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion & Facial Spray

Ulta Haul

Both of these products are the holy-grail from this skin care line and I think if you’ve never tried this brand, these two products should be the first ones to try out. The drying lotion is for any big pimples that may pop up. You would usually wear it at night as it leaves a pink mark on your skin. It really reduces the pimple a lot faster than it would’ve otherwise. The facial spray is one that I tried a few months ago and quickly fell in love. I had to restock because I went through it so fast! It is made with aloe, herbs and rosewater which to me smell amazing and so refreshing. This is to hydrate and refresh. It’s great for people who travel often as traveling can leave your skin dehydrated. I love this little set I got because you can also bring it to the airport with no problem.

St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse

Ulta Haul

A few months ago, I tried St. Tropez for the first time and quickly fell in love. I tried the same product as this one, but the lotion version. I love how naturally tan it makes you look without any streaks and it’s super easy to use! I have the glove, which is the game-changer and highly recommend you use it with the glove. So many people asked me if I went on vacation after using it because my tan looked so natural. I wanted to try the mousse version as well and since this is travel size, I thought it’d be great to bring to the gym. I know many people choose the mousse version vs lotion, but I had no problem with the lotion and plus you get more product out of it!

Essence essence I Love Extreme Volume MascaraMascara & essence Superlast Eyeliner Matte BlackEyeliner

Memoallure.com essence

A couple of months ago, I purchased an essence mascara for the first time and I was super excited about how much I loved it because they are as affordable as drug store can get! I know the mascara will be great, but we’ll see how the eye liner will work. It was buy one get 50% off, so I decided to get this as well. I needed a new liquid eyeliner and if this beats the Stila one I use, then I rather save my money!

L’Oréal Colour Riche Shine in Sparkling Rose 908

Ulta Haul

I am sooo excited for this one! I’ve already tried it and I’m in love! This is fairly new, a few weeks to be exact, and I was so excited to get my hands on these because the packaging really got to me, but also I was excited that it is something you can wear everyday. This color especially is a wearable color as it is a neutral pinkish/peach color. It feels hydrating and it gives you such a nice color to your face. These lipsticks feel you can wear any shade you want everyday without it looking harsh or too intense!

It Cosmetics Conceal and All-Over Foundation Brush

Ulta Haul

I’ve been seeing this all over YouTube and thought it was a great brush! It’s two in one, which I think would be great for travelling. One side is for foundation and the other is for concealer. This is great for me because I know I will be getting a good use out of it bringing it to the gym. This brand has some of the most amazing brushes, so I know I won’t be disappointed.

Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil

Memoallure.com bumble and bumble

I’ve heard so many great things about this and know that this is a great brand. I recently colored my hair and need protection for my hair, especially since I wash my hair at the gym and need to blow dry it. This product promises to de-frizz, detangle, soften, silken and protects against heat/UV damage.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum

Ulta Haul

This is a ride-or-die product to so many people and I thought it was time for me to find out why. I bought a travel size just to try out, and if it’s as magical as everyone says it is then I will definitely repurchase and let you guys know. This product promises to significantly reduce major signs of visible aging. I noticed in the ingredients list that there are some peptide ingredients, which is a good sign as peptides are great for anti-aging.

EcoTools Makeup Brush Cleaning Cloths

Ulta Haul

Who else hates cleaning their makeup brushes? It is one of my least favorite things to do. I have never tried this, but thought it was a great idea. You can quickly clean your brushes right after you use it. It’s the same thing as a makeup remover cloth but for your brushes. I will keep you guys updated to let you know if actually works in my April favorites.

We have come to an end with my haul! I’m excited to try all of these products, which are mostly all new to me. And as always, anything I love will be fully reviewed at the end of the month!

All the best,

Highly Rated Foundations | High-End vs. Drug Store

The Best Foundations

Today we’re talking about the two most hyped up foundations; both from the high end and the drug store side. I thought it would be interesting to know what the holy-grail of foundations from both ends are.

We will talk about durability, ease of use, coverage, packaging and price point.

The two that I mention are quite similar in their formula and is a good comparison if you are money conscious to be able to decide what makes most sense for your budget.

We’ll start with High-End:

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup

Best Foundations

This foundation has been a holy-grail to beauty gurus for many, many years. This was the ride-or-die foundation for a lot of people for many years, until the makeup industry blew up and now a new product seems to come out each week.

Packaging:

It’s packaging is old school, in that it doesn’t have a pump, and in my opinion, they seem to keep that to remind people that it’s been around for a long time. The brand itself has been around forever and it only makes sense that they perfected their foundation. I don’t love that it doesn’t have a pump, but at the same time, it doesn’t bother me too much. I know a lot of people are bothered by it since it can be hard to get the right amount out for use, but I tend to just gently get it out. I do know that if you want a pump for it, I believe MAC sells some that fits perfectly.

Durability:

It promises to have a 15-hour durability and is supposed to be lightweight. As far as the 15-hours, I do think it is long-wear without it looking cakey and gross at the end of the day. I tend to wear it from 7AM to 7PM, and by the end of the 12-hour day, it still looks as beautiful as when I first applied it. It certainly is lightweight and doesn’t feel like you are wearing too much makeup on your skin; it’s super comfortable. It wins a 10 out of 10 for me as far as durability.

Formula:

It’s more on the matte side of things, but my dry-skin people need not to worry, because that’s my skin type and I love this! I don’t think it’s drying at all and allows you to look like you have no makeup with it being lightweight. As far as what it feels like, it’s more liquid compared to other foundations, which seems like it wouldn’t be full coverage, but it sure is (whew, thank goodness!).

Price Point:

This is retailed at $37, which isn’t terrible for a high-end product. These days, foundations tend to be priced higher. I think you get a good use out of it and lasts a very long time, especially if you don’t wear foundation every day.

Overall, I love this foundation and it has been hyped up for many years for many good reasons. Honestly, I truly think this could be worn every day without any discomfort. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling gross after and I don’t break out either. Whenever I have an important event, I can trust to wear this with no problem and have my skin look flawless. It also looks absolutely gorgeous in pictures – double win!

Highly Rated Foundations

Drug-Store Highly Rated Foundation:

Maybelline Superstay 24-hour Wear

Best Foundations

This foundation is not even one year old yet. It came out last year and quickly became a favorite to many beauty YouTubers (gurus). When it first came out, you couldn’t even order it on Ulta’s website because it was sold out for so long. It didn’t come in the stores until much later. I ended up getting mine on Amazon and it took two months to come to me!! That’s how much it was hyped up. Everyone was trying to get their hands on this foundation.

Packaging:

The packaging is one of the easiest and sleek one’s I’ve encountered for foundations. This one does have a pump, which allows for a better ease of use. It’s light weight and you can bring it with you anywhere. I bring this one to the gym with me as it is the easiest to carry and can do my makeup with the least amount of time. For those of us who love cute packaging, this one is the most eye-catching in the drug-store.

Durability:

This promises to be a 24-hour wear, full-coverage, seamless matte finish breathless and comfortable to wear. I don’t understand why brands promise 24-hours, I get that it’s a marketing technique, but really who wears foundation for that long? Well… I guess maybe if you sleep with it… but you should never, ever do that to your beautiful skin! As much as foundation these days tend to be better for our skin, the best way to prevent breaking out is to let your skin be free.

I do notice that it does last a long time and is durable for my 12-hour wear. It looks as good as it did when I first apply it. As far as durability it wins a 9/10 for me.

Formula:

This one is also targeted towards a matte finish and it sure is what it promises to be! The first few times I wore it, I thought it was the most perfect matte, but recently I’ve found that it can be too drying, especially for someone who has dry/combination skin. I make sure to put on my Smashbox primer before applying this, and I would highly suggest you do the same or put any other moisturizing primer before you apply this. Also, another important suggestion is that you work this on your skin in sections. Since it is quite drying, it can end up looking patchy if you try to do your whole face at once. This foundation is a bit tricky to use at first, but once you follow all those steps, it’s bulletproof. The finish is amazing. I think many beauty gurus love it due to the finish which looks flawless.

Price Point:

Since this is from the drug store, as expected, this one is more on the affordable side. This one is retailed at $11. For the price point, I think it’s worth it. It’s currently my favorite foundation from the drug store.

Highly Rated Foundations

Comparison:

Comparing the two, I would choose the Estee Lauder one as its one that I don’t have to think too much about and know that it will have an amazing finish each time. If you have to budget and need something less expensive, the Maybelline Superstay is a great dupe for it, although having its differences. I think both are highly hyped up for good reasons and I will be using them for many months to come.

Comparting the two pictures, you can see that the drug-store one is a little more patchy and not as seamless as the first picture. But of course, that’s a bit expected with the price point.

Last important fact, both foundations do not offer SPF so make sure to apply some beforehand.

Until next time,

Huge ULTA Haul & Review | Winter 2017

Ulta Haul and Review

Christmas came early for me this year! I had the 20% coupon at Ulta, and of course I had to use it…..

This haul consists of a lot of ‘cult favorites’ and stuff that I’ve been meaning to try for quite some time.

I’m so excited to share it with you guys as I’ve been trying these products for a few days now and have been loving all of it!

I figured I would share this before Christmas as all my makeup junkies may be (hopefully) getting gift cards to Ulta or Sephora and you can have an idea of what to buy!

I bought everything online and was eagerly waiting for my package to share with you guys. I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited for a package. It’s nice that it came a week early as a Christmas present to myself! Sometimes you gotta treat yo’ self because if you can’t value you then who will!?!

I think the key is to do what makes you the happiest and to enjoy it without any guilt. For me, that is makeup. I get so joyful thinking and talking about makeup, that I know it’s something I should do without any guilt.

Anyways, let’s get to the important part…..

Here is what I got at Ulta:

Dose of Colors –

Liquid Matte Lipstick in Truffle & Liquid Matte Lipstick in Stone

Huge Ulta Haul

So, apparently these two shades are a cult classic and are shades that most beauty gurus have. Before this purchase, I never tried anything from Dose of Colors and I am quite shocked at how amazing they are from what I know of these two products.

The stone shade is more of a mauve tone and it is absolutely beautiful. The Truffle shade is a little more on the brown side of things and is a great nude shade. It’s a bit darker than your typical nude.

These two shades are super wearable and an everyday stable. What I was so shocked about with these lipsticks is that usually matte lipsticks are very drying and can also look dry on your lips.  Those types of matte lipsticks can be quite uncomfortable to wear, but these ones felt so moisturizing and yet still looked matte. Honestly, I was shocked…. it doesn’t even feel like you are wearing lipstick – it’s crazy!

I am officially a Dose of Colors fan. I can’t wait to try their other products. 🙂

Too Faced –

Chocolate Gold Palette

There has been such a rave around this new palette that I had to try it myself. Not particularly because there was so much rave around it, but really it looks beautiful and caught my eye. I had a good feeling that I would really like it. I was not wrong. This is so pigmented and so festive, especially around this time of year. I do love Too Faced eye shadow palette’s so I wasn’t too surprised of how great this one is. I love that this palette comes with transition shade colors, so you can really do a complete look using only this palette which is great! Apparently, the gold is real and yes, it does smell like chocolate as always. Too Faced has a 20% off your first purchase when you sign up, so if you’re looking to purchase their products, I would suggest you do that. I’m all for saving any type of money whenever I can.

Benefit –

Hoola Bronzer & GALifornia Blush

From Benefit, I got my ride-or-die bronze – Hoola. I’m sure many of you love this one as well. I love using their contour stick and then setting that with the Hoola powder. It really looks so beautiful and ‘natural’ or as natural as makeup can look! Those two products are really products I don’t think I can live without.

Something new for me is Benefits blush. I was intrigued after I saw someone on YouTube using it. It’s the GALifornia Blush. It smells so nice and looks so beautiful – both on and in the package. It’s shimmery and has a sun kissed glow type of feel to it. It’s honestly so beautiful and is subtle. I really don’t like overpowering blushes and this one is not one of those. I was a little hesitant because looking at it you’d think it’d be too pigmented, but it really is not. This in some way reminds me of the Nars Orgasm blush. I love that one as well as it is also super wearable.

Maybelline –

Ulta Haul and Review

As many of you may already know from this post, that I am obsessed with Maybelline’s Super Stay Matte inks. The formula is wonderful, especially for a drug store brand. So, I had to try different shades to see how if they perform the same. I got the shades 75- Fighter and 10-Dreamer. I haven’t tried them yet, but I have high hopes for both of the shades. I am loving the brown fighter shade it seems like such a great winter shade. Dreamer is more of a pink shade and I think it will look so cute as a date night look or for Valentine’s day!

Real Techniques –

Ulta was having a deal where you could buy one get the second 50% off some brands, and Real Techniques was one of them. So was Maybelline, which is why I bought those two shades above. Real Technique has some of the best brushes for an affordable brand. They really are the winners for me in this department.

Ulta Haul and Review

I bought the Diamond shaped sponge and the blush brush. And I may say I did such a good job choosing these two products because I am obsessed with both products. In particular, I AM ABSOLUTELY OBSESSED with the diamond sponge. I honestly bought it because I thought it was cute and packaging really wins me over for makeup, but it exceeded my expectations. Honestly, I may like this more than the original Beauty Blender. Really, I do. It’s crazy, I know.  The bottom of the Diamond is flat and great for applying your makeup and the tip of it isn’t as sturdy as I’d like, but it still works. If you don’t like that you could also just squeeze it and use the other edges, which is what I’ve been doing. I love this so much.

Tarte –

Empowered hybrid gel foundation in light sand

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I was done with my cart and didn’t want to purchase anything else…. but then I saw that Tarte was having a sale for one of their foundations, so I had to try it out. I believe I paid only $10 for it. They were also having the sale for the brush that goes with this foundation, but it was sold out. Such a bummer! I didn’t have high hopes for this foundation and wasn’t going to be too disappointed if it didn’t work out as it didn’t break the bank for me. But it ended up being perfect for me. It is not full coverage but leaves your skin looking so flawless and is perfect for those days that you want to do a natural look or want to wear it in a professional setting. I will for sure wear this in the office. I love it so much and love the packaging as it makes things so much easier.

memoallure.com Ulta Haul and Review

The second product I got from Tarte is no new news at this point and that is the Shape Tape concealer. This one is my second tube, and I was out of it, so I had to restock on it.

Ofra-

Ulta Haul and Review

I’ve been so intrigued to try Nikki Tutorial’s collab with Ofra as Nikki is the queen of highlights. I knew that I wouldn’t be disappointed, so I purchased it. And yes, as highly expected, it did not disappoint. It is really #goals for highlighting your face. I got the shade “Glazed Donut” as I do not have a highlighter in this shade. I love it so far and can’t wait to play around with it.

Wet N’ Wild-

319B Highlighting Powder

Ulta Haul and Review

Wet N’ Wild has been killing it with every product that they’ve come out with this year and I figured I’d try their highlighter as well. This was only $4.99 which is crazy so I’m hoping to like it. I haven’t tried it, but it looks beautiful. I love their blush and have talked about it in this post, so I think this won’t disappoint. The packaging is gorgeous on this. It has a flower embedded on the product which is so beautiful to me.

Physicians Formula-

Butter Bronzer

Okay, I think many of you have heard of this product already, but I have never tried it. I’ve heard so many beauty gurus rave about it, so I had to try it for myself. And I have not been disappointed. I really love this one as well. It is buttery as the name suggests and it smells like a vacation. No, seriously it does. It has a coconut fragrant to it. It’s not too overpowering, either. So far, so good with this.

Elf –

Sculpt & Shine Brush Set

Memoallure.com Ulta Haul and Review

Lastly, I bought this package of brushed from Elf. This might be my first product from Elf and it did not disappoint. This is the contour kit. I really needed something like this as I usually use a beauty blender for my contouring needs and now when I don’t want to use a beauty sponge for my look, I can just use this kit. This was only $10, and it is amazing. The first brush is for baking around the cheek area to fix your contour or bronzer so that it’s sharper. The second brush is for setting your concealer under your eyes. The third brush is great for nose contouring or getting smaller areas. Looks like this is only $7 on Amazon, which is even better!

That is all for my Ulta haul this time around. I was not disappointed with any of the products I tried and I guess that’s mainly because I did my homework before buying all of these products. I would highly suggest that you guys do the same before buying anything. If I’ve said something works great on me, go and research that product more, maybe on YouTube or other beauty bloggers to get the best idea of that product!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

xoxo,

Ozzy

Morphe Brushes + Palette | Review

Morphe Brushes Review

Morphe has become one of the most known affordable brands out there and has become even bigger this year as they have gotten investors to expand their business. Honestly, I am very impressed.

You can find Morphe products online and perhaps someday at Sephora. They do have their own store in CA, but unfortunately that’s not helpful for those of living outside of that.

I wanted to write this review as the only way for someone not living in California would be to purchase their stuff online – which can tend to be quite hard to decipher which products will work for you.

Before this purchase, I never used Morphe products….after this purchase, I AM OBSESSED. The thing that really makes me love it is that they are so affordable. Some of the brushes I got were I believe around $4 – so crazy and yet the quality is so good!

As the holiday season is approaching, this may be a good gift idea or you can just treat yo’ self because the holiday season is all about being happy, right?!

Let’s get to the review…

Pro Round Blender E27

Morphe Brushes

This is probably one of the best blending brushes I’ve ever used. It’s so fluffy and easy to use. The best part is it’s only $7! Compared to MAC brushes, which tend to be in the $20s range, this is a much affordable price! It blends everything so smoothly, is lightweight and now I understand why all the YouTubers rave about these brushes!

Mini Concealer Brush – M421

Morphe Brushes Review

This brush is great for doing a look such as a cut crease or it’s great for cleaning up your eyebrows after you’ve lined them. It’s super small, which  makes it great for precise application. This brush is only $3.50 and I absolutely have been loving this!

Crease Precision Blender – E17

Morphe Brushes Review

This is again, a great blending brush, but more so for the outer corner of your lids as it is smaller and you can get more precise with it. The above blending brush, E27, is great for the transition shade application and this one is great to build up that outer corner darker shade. This one is only $7.

Pro Firm Blending Fluff – M433

Morphe Brushes Review

This is another blending brush and is great to blend right below the transition shade. I absolutely love this one. It’s a great brush to build up a tone of colors that you are working with. This is super fluffy – as all of the above brushes are, and blends beautifully. This brush is priced at $6.

Detail Crease – E36

Morphe Brushes Review

This brush I use for the outer corner as well, but can really get super precise with it. This one is great for really dark shades such as dark browns or blacks as they can get really messy really quick. This is much smaller than the E17, which is why you can get much precise with it but also work together with both of these brushes to create a beautiful look. This one is only $5.

Pro Precision Smudger – M326

Morphe Brushes Review

You can use this brush for your lower lash line and create a beautiful smokey eye. It can also be used with any shade you want, so it does not need to be a smokey eye. I feel that you can never just put eye liner on your lower lash line, you also need some eye shadow to add some depth, and this brush is perfect for that. Not sure if you can really tell with the picture, but this brush is super small. I absolutely love it. This one is $4.

Deluxe Buffer – M439

Morphe Brushes Review

Lastly, I had to purchase this because I’ve seen Jaclyn Hill rave about this for years and always wondered about it. I absolutely love it! It’s not too big or not too small – it’s perfect! I had the Tarte brush similar to this, but it was much bigger. I do not like that one as it is too big and it also just soaks too much of the foundation. This Morphe brush doesn’t seem to do that and it is super precise. This is the only foundation brush you need! This one is priced at $14.

Fall Into Frost Eye Shadow Palette – 35F

Morphe Brushes ReviewC364973C-0763-430A-8B81-16113812F4D3

I’ll start off by saying – wow these shades are beautiful!!!! When I swatched them for the first time (and touched them for the first time), I was shocked at how smooth and creamy they are. I love the range and you can really create so many looks with this palette. I loved playing around with this for fall and found that the shades are super easy to work with. The pigmentation is fairly good for the price point. Of course, high-end products do have better pigment than this one, but this palette wins for any drug-store brands or less expensive brands! You definitely need to set this with a setting spray so that it stays all day because I’ve found if you don’t, your eye shadow won’t last you all day with this palette. This palette is only $23.

Continuous Setting Spray

Morphe Brushes Review

I’ve heard so many great things about this product as well and had to try for myself. I do like it a lot. I love that it is continuous which makes it gentle and doesn’t feel like something is pouring on your face. Overall, I think this is a great setting spray and I’ve found that the eye shadow palette from above lasts much longer when I use this.

That is it, guys. Overall, I am so happy with all of my purchase and have been using them for over 2 months now. I think they are great for the price point and feel just as good as pro brushes such as MAC. Don’t get me wrong, I am still obsessed with MAC brushes, but if I want to be money-conscience and save my money, then these will be my go-to brushes to purchase.

***I am unfortunately not a Morphe affiliate so I cannot give you guys a discount, but if you go to YouTube, you can find it there. Some beauty guru’s that I know who have the 10% discount are Manny Mua (he’s the one I used, I love him so much!!), Jaclyn Hill or Laura Lee.

Hope this was helpful and let me know if you guys own any of these brushes

Sephora Haul – Fall 2017

Sephora Haul - Fall 2017

As some of you know I used to work at Sephora and it was great, but financially, not so great. Last week they had friends and family coupon floating around, and thanks to one of my old colleagues, I was able to shop with a 20% discount! Now, for all of my makeup lovers, that is a BIG deal. I am also excited that the next 20% VIB sale is coming in a few days. My bank account, on the other hand, is crying sad, sad tears. I also had a 20% off at Ulta this past weekend, which of course, I HAD to use. Gosh, I sound like a makeup addict…oh because I am! 🙂 Continue Reading →

Drug Store Makeup Haul – Fall 2017

Drugstore Haul

I realize that the average girl doesn’t usually have all of the high end makeup products nor knows so much about them. Unlike myself, the average girl is good with one palette from a random drug store brand, a foundation and a mascara. Honestly, I envy you, your life is not full of clutter. On the other side, I can’t deny my love for makeup and yes, it is an obsession/addiction, but at least I get to share it with you guys and if something doesn’t work out for me, then you guys can know before purchasing it!

Drug store makeup can be great for anyone on a budget, but sometimes, if you purchase the wrong product, it can really be a waste of money. What I’m trying to say is — it can get real ugly, real quick!
